The works Lotus XI had rivets in the bonnet (as all XI's do). If you click on my pitures they will enlarge and you will see the rivets.
The rivets are there to attach the inner structure (spats and airduct) as seen in the open bonnet picture.
(for the record: that picture is not of the works car, but another unrestord XI)

Half a dozen beautiful elevens at Le Mans this weekend, and about the same number of 15's.

It would be easy to replicate the look referring to those pics. Install rivets before painting for an authentic finish.

Looking forward to seeing some Le Mans photos.
