Paul's incredibly detailed and well driven late chassis Westfield 11 is for sale. Paul has pulled the trigger on a new Lotus 23, and there is no room in the garage for this magnificent W11.
Imagine a W11, built to the highest standard, using the best parts, properly developed to be the best that the design could be.
2006 kit delivery, completed 2007~8, current owner acquired it in 2009. Complete rebuild through 2009 (chassis setup, new spindles, brakes) while the car was being enjoyed on the road. New 120 Hp 1380 engine 2011, fuel injected 2013. Other improvements along the way as the car was driven and refined (TranX, axles, improved cooling, authentic trim details).
No garage queen, this one is for driving. All the good stuff is there, from the 120 HP 1380 with throttle body injection and full authority ECU (including ignition control), light alloy flywheel, Type 9 Transmission, TranX LSD (Peter May axles) and 15" wheels with the correct Dunlop vintage race tires. Protech double adjustable dampers and softer rear springs round out the handling improvements. There are even taper wheel bearings, properly shimmed and torqued.
It is fully sorted, and is driven regularly. Get in and drive, or race (I suggest installing a proper roll bar prior to track events, though).
Consider that the TranX LSD, axles, wheels, tires and dampers are about $4800 USD alone.
Let's not forget the 4340 front spindles, taper wheel bearings, new spline hubs and new instruments, or the custom double pass alloy radiator.
The brakes are twin master cylinder, with a Westfield brake pedal and bias bar. Solid brakes.
For those of you who enjoy flat tail lights, the car has them, as well as the correct side lights under the headlight covers.
This one was built for driving, and has been used regularly (every weekend) in the canyons and roads above Malibu. Its a California car, so no corrosion. It is also easy to service, and has a quick release scuttle that can be removed in about 3 minutes, including detaching the fuel filler hose. If you are in a hurry, about 1 minute. Brake reservoirs are remotely mounted and easy to inspect and fill.
80 mph at 3700 RPM for nice long distance cruising. The ride is vastly improved, as well as the handling. This one is comfortable for long tours. The suspension has been fully developed.
Find it at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/WestyXIow ... 9/pic/list Lots of photos.
There is a post on the WestyXIownersbuildersdrivers site covering most of the car's features.
Surprise! $40,000 USD. That's a pretty good price for a car that is just about all new content (only the rear axle and short block came from the donor car. Everything else is new).
Why pay $42,000 USD for a relatively ordinary W11, when you can have something that is really special and fully developed.
You could not build one like this for that money.
Yes, it is expensive, but worth it if you want something that has the right look, and the right driving qualities.
We want to see this car go to a good home, where someone will enjoy it, and not let it sit in a garage.
We invite you to take a look, and drive it. If you have driven a W11 before, you will be amazed as to the difference a few years of development can do. This is the best W11 you will ever drive.
Yes, I know. A lot of hype. But the car is really that good.
The car was not built for UK IVA, but it cleared California with no problems. Both Westfield and MG Midget VIN plates available. Just about all the parts content is from the UK.
