Number plate change doesn't matter after re-registration, but I definitelly need to have 'Westfield' on the V5 combined with a date of first registration older than 06/1968.

What are the options ?

Okay ive just checked my v5, I registered my car after IVA about 18 months ago. I used a 1962 donor, but the date of first registration is down as the day i registered the car, with special notes that 1) the number plate is not transferable, 2) the car is kit built/converted, assembled from parts all of which may not be new, 3) that an IVA certificate was issued and that a visible smoke test only is required.

There is no mention as to the age of the donor car.

Hope this helps

Thank B, very helpful!

The 3 special notes are no issue, but the fact the date of registration is down to the day you have registered the car is a blocker for registering the car where I live. That probably is the reason why most cars from the latest batch (2005-2014) have a recent date of registration. :( I now need to understand whether that is general or whether there is a workaround. If not, I'll have to let this particular car go ....

I do prefer a car from the recent batch as these are (generally spoken) in a better shape, but mainly as some have the 5 speed gearbox. The 5 speed is required to drive on the highway to the track or tours and was the main reason for selling my Eleven some years ago. Hence, I have been very interested in reading the topic about 5 speed conversion (gearbox + conversion adapter + Westfield chasis kit), which might be an option when buying a correctly registered car with rib box.

If any other examples about registration, do not hesitate ...
