Certainly is!
I wish there was the option of the Datsun 210b box. Lightweight and 5 speeds. Try finding one. I’ve been looking for years.
How about more power, 15” wheels, and a 3.7 diff? That’ll make for a comfortable cruise quite nicely! Unlike mine!

You mean like my car?
'Has a 3.9 final drive with a TranX LSD and Mini Mania Axles. Should be perfect when I get the 15" wheels and the Dunlop vintage race tires.
You don't even have to change the gear change lever hole in the tunnel. One panel alloy has to be moved (unzip by drilling out the rivets then re riveting inside the foot well) from the tunnel side to the interior on the LH side of the chassis. This is a far better solution than hammering the hell out of it to clear the bell housing.
There is a Chevrolet transmission mount that fits the Datsun 'box that might simplify the installation. It's for a Chevy/GM 4 speed gearbox. Urethane.

Well if you are dead set on the Datsun, I’ll have a look in a scrappy or two when I’m out and about in Chile sometime. However, you then will need the conversion kit from the States! All the bits for the Jimny box conversion are easily got in the UK, and I’ll bet the Jimny box is as light or lighter than the Datsun. The Barrett engineering Jimny to A series kit is the easy way but is well north of a grand but this thread is the diy for a few hundred quid version…!
