Put mine on the rolling road at Minispeed last weekend. 55bhp! Be very, very afraid.

I don't really think they even needed to strap it down to the rolling road, to be honest.....

At the wheels, I hope?

Nope...At the flywheel. Sadly.

But then again, my engine is all boggo standard....

Any suggestions on meeting up? Does it just make sense to meet at the train terminal, or is there another suitable RV point en route for you? We'll be heading A14, M11, M25, M20 (boring, boring, boring).

Can we meet at the train terminal. I gotta meet up with my brother-in-law in his Cobra as well, so it might be easier to all meet at Folkstone, when at least we know we are on time (hopefully). We are staying at the same campsite as you, so hopefully we can go all the way down together.

I am running a 6" with a .25" rise to clear my large K&N air cleaner. The carb is a DCOE 45, with a low profile, top mounted throttle linkage. I still have about a quarter to half inch of clearance, and a bunch more HP and torque with my Longman head, scatter cam 1380. It all fits fine. The air cleaner, and part of the carb overlap the chassis, but do not contact the bonnet.

I am currently building one of the last XI kits, using a "flat" 5" Longman. I foresee no problems with this fitting using a Scytech top mount, low profile linkage.

I have the 1.5" bore 7" maniflow on mine, and it fits just fine. Carb is far enough above the chassis rail and the aircleaner (100mm deep foam) clears the bonnet too. Need to work on ducting cool air to it though.

I don't have a wheel house in mine. No bulkhead behind the tire at the present time. This allows for plenty of cool air. When I do finally do the under bonnet aero structure, I will probably bring in air from the front of the bonnet. I don't want to cut holes in the body.

I have put some louvers or holes in some of the wheel house bulkheads to allow airflow through the exhaust cavity. This keeps things much cooler, especially with my LHD car.
