JAN (Westfield 129) , I note all your comments about clearance with starter housing, the tunnel sides are already inside the footwells , handbrake bolts and modifying gearbox mount chassis plate , NO WAY will there be any bolts through chassis tubes and I can see a simple bracket bolted to the existing chassis plate to carry the new gearbox mounting . Regards the shifter I have both a shortened standard unit and Westfield's latest short throw , I will fit what suits me best .
I am staying with the standard gear set but have both a 3.9 and a 3.7 diff and two sets of wire wheels . One 13" with 145 tyres and one 14" with 165 tyres . The 14 X 165 have a rolling circumferenc of 77" or 2.14 yards which with the 3.9 diff gives 5.42 - 9.5 - 14.06 - 18.7 - 22.8 mph per 1000 rpm and 5.4 - 10.0 - 14.8 - 19.7 - 24.0 with the 3.7 .
Plenty to play about with and as you say " 90 mph all day " ( Where Permitted ) Thanks for your interest and comments . BOB
