Oh, come on Jon. Loaded Gunn only has one neighbour and he (Scott) seems to look after only one make and model of car. With mine there this week, he had thirteen of them on site. Try again..........

Not the best for the commute. One wheelie case and my flight case (small leather satchel) or a passenger, but not both. Still, it's a hoot........

You know, I've never noticed the Clios next door. I thought they installed ICE there or something.
Must be that my attention is fully taken with the nearby distractions!

I hadn't put two and two together until chatting with Scott. Next time!
He used to work for TWR (who developed and built the Phase 1 V6) and has a mint R5 Turbo2 Maxi on site, along with numerous road-legal V6 Trophy cars.

In all seriousness, how do you find the on limit handling? That's a very short wheelbase.....

I have a perfect R5Turbo2 that I have owned since new, about 28 years now. Even the Nacre paint is still pristine. But then it lives in a climate controlled garage.
Once dialed in (proper camber in the rear, and nice fresh 285/40/15 tires, or the proper 13" sizes, and the ZF roller locked LSD) and it becomes a 1G car, with forgiving handling qualities, and an excellent upper body work out.
I live in the canyons, and some of the roads have lovely ocean views, so the thing thinks that it lives on Corsica. 'Probably the reason I have had such good luck with it. I do all my own maintenance, and I am restoring another for a friend.
But I can't believe that is the car, though.
I would love to have a Clio V6, but I can't import for about another 12 years... The later versions handle much better.

Scott's car is an ex-works, full-house Maxi set up for tarmac.
My Vee is a Phase two, redeveloped (and built) in-house by Renaultsport with revised geometry and damping. It's an absolute hoot. And winter rubber has transformed it into quite a weapon (at the expense of some cross-wind stability and economy). But yes; the heavy engine, mounted quite high-up, the soft road-car set-up, the short wheelbase, the comical steering lock and the too-slow rack all add up to a package to be mindful of. A significant proportion have been written-off having been spun. Not helped by many owners coming to the Vee by way of a couple of front drive hatches, maybe a Clio 172 or 182 and then a car with dynamics that they simply can't comprehend.
