Bit quiet here innit?

Post by biggles »

Blimey, it's like the Marie Celeste here at the moment! I hope it's because everyone is out enjoying the sunshine (in the UK at least) in their machines and too busy doing rather than writing.....

However, for those of us in the immobile state of Westyness, some gossip, pics of what you are up too with the cars would be welcome....

In no particular order, and not intending to single anyone out, and in a spirit of unimpeachable political correctness (TIC), Splatters, Jon, what are you up too with yours? Bob W any early ownership updates? Si how is the build going? Mark W, we never did see your monster K series installation in any detail......! Eric I know you are beavering away for this season, what's the latest...? Anyone I haven't mentioned don't feel left out, let's hear what's going on with your car....!

Seasons greetings all!

I'm awaiting a new brake master cylinder from Caterham. They punt out the AP Racing unit for a lot less than WSC. But nobody has any stock at present. Soon as it's fitted it'll be off for an MoT.

I also have a dye kit to try out in an attempt to revive my badly faded red carpets.....

Otherwise, she hasn't turned a wheel since the Revival last year. Shameful, I know.

Well tomorrow morning i plan on fitting a new etb temp sensor, then ragging the arse off it (again). With Charles's old race motor now in it its a complete beast.....

Good to hear from you guys.Splatters, I guess you have been busy with both your Renault and 4x4 weapons? Ben, pics please! Haven't seen yours fully complete I don't think, have vague memories of failing to access your pic stash? Anyone else? Jon, Jan?

I'm still immobile due a house move (long story, was going to get a 6 car plus car barn, now have to make do with a double garage and build another double in due course), baby on the way (not me the wife!) and a conversion soon on to the 787 (hence the house move, change of base to Thiefrow). None of my toys (W11, Burlington Arrow, Locost racer) are going. Seriously regretting selling my TVR 2 years back!!

Cheers

Tim your right it's been far too quiet and I have been pretty rubbish with my build/website/life in general.
On the plus side I have only really got the rear light clam loom to install and a little IVA sharp edge covering and I'll be off to get it tested so must get it booked in. I'll try get some pics and update the website as its looking how do I say a little frog eyed!!!!!

Cheers Si

Ben looking great there! Was it an approx doubling of bhp or a bit more? Any tweaking of brakes etc too?

Si, are the light pods siliconed on or do you have to drill the front clam?

M400, getting there!! Will you hit the road for the end of summer do you think? Which tyres did you go for?

Splatters, no rebuild possible?

Yeah, im guessing its doubled.... From a wheezy old stock 1275 with worn carbs, so let say 60 bhp on a good day, to 120bhp or there abouts. Brakes more than man enough to do the job at the moment, for track work ill change the pads but the triumph set up is more than good enough on the front as is, the car weighed in at iva at only 460kg and with skinny tyres it is quite easy to lock up wheels.
