London-Brighton Kit and Sports Car run 1st June

Now that the XI is on the road after a 6 year build, I've registered to partake in the London to Brighton kit and sports car run on 1st June (subject to bits falling off during shake-down runs beforehand).

Is anyone else thinking of going?

Does anyone know of any hotels near Brooklands with secure overnight parking?

I won’t be doing the L2B, but hope to have a couple of awaydays locally (Cotswolds, SW) this season. Just got my XI out of storage, MoT tested and taxed this morning!

Some fettling required, but not running too badly for 18 months off the road!

It's a pretty raucous drive but great fun.

I got down to the Ace Cafe a few weeks back, but the cars now in bits whilst I await a replacement flywheel.

It had better be back together for the L to B!

Enjoy Morris! I’m off to the Malvern show with a couple of my old racing buddies and will pop in to the Morgan factory caff for a brew as it’s up the road. Hope the flywheel repair is bedding in well!

Yes it all went well thank you. 255 miles covered on Sunday without a hitch. Lovely weather and 300 cars (mostly 'classics'). Only two Westfields, my XI and a Seven so it drew lots of attention. There was supposed to be a D-Type Jag but I didn't see it!

The diff is now complaining loudly so that now needs attention.
