So I asked about this at the Westfield stand at Autosport.

What they told me was; they *will* still be doing the Eleven (and they have no plans to cease basing it on a Midget), but they are going to do one production run a year; so they'll gather up "all" (sic) the orders over a 12 month period and put them through the production line in one go, so as not to disturb production of the 7-a-likes. Can't imagine anyone waiting 12 months for their kit to be made, mind....

To be honest, I still think that you would struggle to get one through the IVA. Perhaps they are only going to be track cars?

Not sure, not sure that he was sure. I sort of get the impression that things at Potenza/Westfield/GTM are all over the place. For 20 sales a year or whatever they get out of the eleven, i'm not sure they are devoting too much energy to it.

Anyone got a spare set of headlight covers going, coz I can't get any out of the factory....
Alternatively, where would one go to get the various bits of perspex made up?

There are a few places that mould perspex or polycarb, but first they'd have to take a mould off your existing ones, then heat the flat sheet on the mould to take the shape. Finally trim them to size. Could be pricey for just one pair. Maybe if we find somewhere, we could get a few of us to put in for a spare pair to spread the cost? I'll do a bit of digging.

In principal I don't mind buying a small run and then just storing them and selling them back to the eleven family at cost as and when they are needed. Obviously I don't want to spend £££'s on it, but if it's not silly money I don't mind. I'd quite like the side screens as well, since one of mine cracked a little where Westfield didn't radiusize (sp?) it.

Anyone have an informed view on what the material actually is? I would have thought polycarb would be preferable to perspex given its position on the car (likely to be hit be stones etc).

Lexan/Polycarb is tougher and less likely to shatter than perspex but I believe is slightly harder to work. It can go cloudy over time though, so if it is polycarb I wonder if Westfield have coated it to stop that happening?

You are right. Should be Lexan / polycarbonate. If you're requests for replacement covers have met with no answer we should first try a group (mob?) approach to Westfield. They (or one of their suppliers) have moulds for the bits we need. It's not on that we have to think about sourcing elsewhere...
Can also work through the WSCC. I'm sure the "regular" Westfield guys would support our claim....

Just so you know....Westfield are quoting £148 + VAT

That's for the light covers. No, not the rest of the bonnet as well...
